From 15th to 17th May 2012 Center for Citizenship Education, Slovenian non-governmental non-profit organisation, took part in the international event "Maribor for Peace 2012" initiated by Municipality of Maribor within European Capital of Culture 2012 project. EIP Slovenija-Šola za mir participated actively in this event
The event was attended by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso, spiritual leader, Prof. Muhammad Yunus, a Bangladeshi economist, the initiator of the micro-credit concept and founder of the Grameen Bank, Dr. Rigoberta Menchú Tum from Guatemala, an unbending fighter for human rights, and Dr. Lučka Kajfež Bogataj, a climatologist and Slovene Climate Ambassador, awarded the Nobel Peace Prize 2007 as a Slovenian member of the IPCC.
