The DVD ‘Quite Simply Rights and Freedoms’ consists of 6 short films directed by 6 different film-makers. The World Association of School as an Instrument for Peace (EIP), the initiator of the project, invited each of them to develop a film involving an imaginary story based on one or several articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Each director took over his or her task with complete freedom as to the artistic aspects, preoccupations and cinematic techniques used. This initiative produced the following films, cited in the order in which they appear in the DVD.
This DVD was designed so that the major texts concerning human rights, especially the UNDHR, would be made accessible to the public, particularly to high school students as well as members of the various associations who are active in this area. With this aim, EIP thought it would be useful to accompany each film with an explanatory note so as to facilitate its use for educational purposes.
